Travel notebooks: Nuremberg

Nuremberg, the city

Friday October 18 , 7:00 a.m. Vienna airport. No more than 5 people sitting near the gate of the flight that will take us to Nuremberg (Germany), where dj Lorenzo al Dino will play the next night at Mitte Soundbar. The weather reports are favorable, so it looks like the weekend will be nice without too many surprises. Three days in Nuremberg, one of the most tourist cities of Germany.

The agenda of our star dj is very tight, so it is not common to have so much time before the performance. Al Dino confesses  to me during the flight  that one of the things he values most in his gigs is to have a little space between the arrival to the city and acting, because he can 'feel' the place and the people he will play for after. That was a big truth. In summary we can say that the night in Mitte Soundbar was fantastic, the public was incredible and the atmosphere amazing. Absolutely everyone danced until the last of the songs that Lorenzo al Dino offered in this magical evening.

Because we want you to enjoy Nuremberg as we did, we give you some tips to make your stay unforgettable at this incredible city. Royal Plastic recommends:

Where to stay?
Hotel Drei Raben. This is a wonderful themathic Hotel-Boutique located in the city center. Not the first time we stayed in, but still we are surprise with the incredible staff, the decoration, the music, the ambient... The themed rooms are decorated individually, so each tells a different story of the city. It's so nice, that they have won the Tripadvisor Travellers Choice the last two years. A little curiosity: Tthe chairs in the lounge bar are those that appeared in Stanley Kubrick's film '2001 a Space Odyssey'.

    Where to eat?
There are many restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy typical local dishes. For breakfast we recommend Casa Pane (Hauptmarkt, 3) with an incredible selection of breads and for lunch or dinner, any small traditional restaurant serving the local speciallity sausage with mustard and potato salad in typical tin plates. Curiosity: Legend sayst that the size of the Nürnberger Rostbratwürste (are much smaller than those that can be found in the rest of Germany) is because it was the perfect size to feed the prisoners through the locks of the cells.

    Where to go out?
Mitte Soundbar . The temple of Nuremberg's electronic music. A place where what matters is the quality music, with one of the most passionate public that we have ever seen in Europe. And extremely demanding. A place where you can enjoy and dance till you drop or till is 5am (when they close). You should not miss if you visit the city.

    Where to buy?
There are several shopping areas in the city. In the center of the city for example you can find plenty of shops. But if you really want to find something special, we recommend you to visit Bubeundkönig, a men's fashion boutique with a clear concept, the art of Denim, pieces made with natural fabrics that have been not treated and with a really special design . Caution: Be sure to look out for small furniture and cabinets you'll find the different areas of the premises, they are simply amazing.
